I made the decision to become a stay-at-home mom rather suddenly. Really, I should say that the decision was made for me. During my seventh month of pregnancy, my husband and I were not only facing the life altering phenomenon of parenthood, we were also having to deal with the fact that the company we loved working for was going bankrupt.

Anyone Can Draw

It’s all about scale.

Go ahead, try it. Take a piece of paper and draw a big circle. Now draw a circle half the size.  Then another one, half that size. Does your circle get better as you draw it smaller? Keep going until you have six or seven circles.

A Bay of Creativity

I vividly recall the horrific feeling of not being able to breathe as I struggled to get to the surface of the water. All I could see was the sandy bottom of the bay. My inner tube had flipped over and my head was pinned down in the water. That was the last thing I remember before everything went dark.

1. What is the difference between a cook and a chef?

You’re always a cook! You become a chef when you are in a position of leading others within your kitchen team, taking on the responsibly to guide and mentor others. If you earn the respect of your fellow cooks and they see you as someone they want to follow, then they will call you Chef. I would never ask someone to call me Chef, that is something that happens naturally.
