I made the decision to become a stay-at-home mom rather suddenly. Really, I should say that the decision was made for me. During my seventh month of pregnancy, my husband and I were not only facing the life altering phenomenon of parenthood, we were also having to deal with the fact that the company we loved working for was going bankrupt.
It’s all about scale.
Go ahead, try it. Take a piece of paper and draw a big circle. Now draw a circle half the size. Then another one, half that size. Does your circle get better as you draw it smaller? Keep going until you have six or seven circles.
I vividly recall the horrific feeling of not being able to breathe as I struggled to get to the surface of the water. All I could see was the sandy bottom of the bay.
